About

Independent UK discovery, not another marketplace dump

Readmine is independently run from the United Kingdom by Ridwan Adedapo. It publishes original buying guides for everyday UK life, with a short list of picks in each — then you finish the purchase on the merchant site you already trust.

Who runs Readmine

Ridwan Adedapo operates Readmine from the UK. There is no large newsroom behind the brand and no claim to lab testing or professional retail credentials — just practical editorial work: choosing niches that matter for everyday British shopping (winter warmth, school-run kit, small wellness spends, pets, beauty gifts) and writing guides that favour clear verdicts over hype.

The site at readmineshop.com is discovery-only. We do not take payment, hold stock or process returns. Your order, payment and customer service sit entirely with the seller you buy from.

Our mission

Publish original UK buying guides with a small, hand-checked set of picks so you can compare options in one quiet place. When something looks right, tap “View deal” and leave Readmine for eBay, Amazon UK or another partner merchant. Prices shown here are approximate guide prices in GBP; the live price, stock and delivery terms always belong to the merchant.

We are not trying to replace Amazon or eBay. We are trying to make the first half of the decision — what is worth considering for a UK flat, commute or school run — less noisy.

How picks are chosen

When we shortlist for a guide or highlight a catalogue find, we weigh:

  • Practical UK use — damp weather, cold rooms, school runs, small flats and honest running costs where relevant (for example heaters versus personal warmth).
  • Budget honesty — clear price bands (under £15, under £25, under £60) rather than endless “premium” language.
  • Guide prices only — figures on Readmine are approximate GBP guide prices from our catalogue notes; always confirm the live offer before you buy.

The process, step by step

  1. Start from a real problem. Each guide begins with a question UK households actually have in autumn and winter, such as how to stay warm without running the heating all day, or what to buy a dad who has everything for under £50.
  2. Read the listing, not the headline. I check the specification on the retailer's page (wattage, waterproof rating, materials, sizing, safety cut-offs), read a spread of buyer reviews with particular attention to the 1- to 3-star ones, and note any repeated complaints.
  3. Check the price is believable. A well-known brand at a fraction of its normal price is usually a listing error, a counterfeit or a bait listing, so it is left out. The guide price shown is the price I saw when the guide was last updated.
  4. Keep the list short. Most guides have around 8 to 10 picks, each with a reason it is there. I would rather leave a gap than pad a list.
  5. Revisit and correct. Guides carry an “Updated” date. When a product is discontinued, its link breaks or its price moves out of the guide's budget, it is replaced or removed.

What I don't do

  • I don't lab-test products and I don't claim to have personally used every item. Where a guide reflects research rather than hands-on use, it says so.
  • I don't accept payment from brands for a place in a guide, and affiliate commission rates don't decide which products are included.
  • I don't invent discounts. Readmine shows a guide price, never a made-up “was” price or countdown timer.

Guides are editorial discovery. They are not paid product placement unless we say otherwise on the page. Commissions do not change the price you pay on the merchant site.

How it works

Browse guides and the shop picks on Readmine. The shop only lists products that appear in a guide. Product cards and deal buttons open the merchant in a new tab. We gather supplements & wellness, winter wear, pets, beauty, perfume, kids kit and everyday essentials so you can scan options without wading through marketplace noise first.

Affiliate disclosure

Readmine may earn a small commission from qualifying purchases made through links on this site — at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. The same principle applies to other affiliate and partner programmes we use — for example Awin partner links (such as SHEIN UK or specialist merchants) when those tracking URLs are live.

Editorial picks and guide advice are written to help you choose well. If a placement is paid or otherwise commercially arranged beyond standard affiliate commissions, we will disclose that clearly on the relevant page.

Who we are for

Commuters, students, renters and households who want practical UK finds without endless marketplace scrolling. Our guides — from winter coats under £60 to heaters, beauty gifts and pet essentials — favour clear verdicts over hype.
